Valentine’s Day
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it is a reminder that this day is all about love. Love for someone special, love for your pet, love for your friends and family. Damn it, love for food! Whoever or whatever it may be, our team put together last-minute ideas for single, married, dating, or ‘it’s complicated’ people. Give it a go and let us know how your Valentine’s Day turns out!
Single
Galentines for the win! This is the time to get all your girlfriends together and enjoy a night of popcorn, movies, face masks, and endless conversations of just about everything. No need for your ‘person’ because these are your ‘people’!
Married
Let’s be real. Booking a dinner reservation on Valentine’s Day is nearly impossible. Instead of breaking the bank and waiting around for a table to be ready, our suggestion is create a romantic evening at home. Pick a recipe that you and your partner want to attempt, buy the ingredients, and then get at it! It is such a fun way to connect while enjoying an interactive activity together. Plus if you add flowers to the mix, it is a done deal! Being over the top is fun but definitely not necessary.
Dating
The tough question, “It is our first Valentine’s Day but we are just dating … do we need to do anything?” That is truly dependent on a variety of factors however treat it as any other date. If you feel that something needs to be said prior to the day, have the conversation and see where each other is at. From there, brainstorm ideas such as a cocktail making competition, movies and popcorn on the couch, or bringing dinner to a cool lookout. Don’t complicate it, don’t overthink it, and just enjoy each other’s company.
‘It’s Complicated’
The hardest category but very doable! Listen just because it is complicated, doesn’t mean you can’t have fun. Find that commonality and go from there. Our suggestion is forget it is Valentine’s Day (it relieves a lot of pressure) and just treat is like any other day. I think it will allow both parties to breathe and relax. Do what you do, and don’t worry what anyone else thinks!
