Halloween Weekend
Well folks, Halloween is here! Whether you fully dress up in costume or stay inside drinking hot coco, here at Stay Wildflower we are big proponents of both options. More than anything we love all things fall! From pumpkin patch hopping, indulging in apple inspired desserts, taking fall walks in the crisp air, or concocting spiced mulled wine, we love it all! There is nothing more cozy than the change of seasons. Although LA receives temperate weather throughout the year, we have already experienced some recent lighting storms and rainy days. For us, we say keep it coming!
For our guests that are currently or planning on staying with us, our team strives to make your Stay Wildflower apartment your home. What does that exactly mean? We encourage you to explore the wonderful things that the City of Angels has to offer. It can be daunting coming to a new city and not knowing the ‘inside scoop’ spots. That is where our job comes in— we put together a couple of ideas so that you can step outside of your apartment and experience LA, while also having some down time in your apartment. Be sure to tag us on any fall-inspired activities that lead up to the Halloween weekend. And most importantly, enjoy!
LA Activities:
Pumpkin Patch Exploring
Can you experience Halloween properly if you don’t go to a pumpkin patch? Our team would argue no. Enjoy an afternoon with family and friends at a local pumpkin patch. Search for your favorite pumpkin, take some festive pictures, and head on home for some carving. Our favorite pumpkin patches are Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch, Mr. Jack O’Laterns Pumpkins and Shawn’s Pumpkin Patch. All of these are highly reviewed!
Festive Restaurant Dining
There are many incredible restaurants in Los Angeles that truly give you all the fall feels. Our personal favorite is Fia Restaurant in Santa Monica. The setting immediately captivates your attention with the vintage pieces and dangling lights over the many trees. The wooden tables and artisanal art hung on the walls transport you to this cozy and elevated space.
Coffee Shops Galore
A cup of coffee is a warm hug! We believe this statement strongly which is why we think it is essential to get your caffeine fix a some point in your day. Our favorite is Alfred’s coffee. The baristas are very meticulous on your order whether you are getting the day’s roast coffee or a chai iced late with a pump of vanilla and pumpkin cream on top. Ask and you will receive!
At Home Activities:
Decorating
Even though your Stay Wildflower home is temporary, that doesn’t mean you can’t get festive! Make this space your own. Our biggest recommendation is heading to Trader Joe’s and purchasing mini pumpkins that can be scattered around the apartment. If you want more of true Halloween, stop at a local Party City and grab skeleton/spider decorations that really add a spooky feel to the space.
Baking
Fall equates to yummy desserts. Bake away! From apple crisp bars to pumpkin pies, the skies the limit in terms of all the delicious treats that you can make. Each of our kitchens are fully stocked with baking utensils. You won’t have any problem finding what you need to make your beautiful creation. We are the biggest fan of Half Baked Harvest which means our recommendations fall in line (no pun intended) with anything she makes: Pumpkin Butter Chocolate Chip Blondies, Apple Cinnamon Rolls with Brown Butter Maple Icing, Pumpkin Patch Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake to name a few. Head to www.halfbakedharvest.com to get an array of recipe options.
Fall Drinks / Cocktail Creation
Warm and cozy drinks. There is nothing better than unwinding after a long day and enjoying a cup of mulled wine or spiked apple cider. Or even better, get a group of friends together on the weekend and create fancy holiday inspired drinks. The online recipe options are endless and 99.9% of the time, it is absolutely delicious. Here are some of our favorites: Maple Apple Cider, Vanilla Chai Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, and Apple Butter Old Fashioned.
